Access Updates Virus A OS

March 16, 2001

The Virus A from Access Music was released about four years ago, and discontinued about one-and-a-half years ago. Many people may have forgotten it, but Access has not; in a rare act for this industry, they will soon release version 2.8 of the Virus A OS, supporting owners of the now discontinued product. In addition to optimizations and bug fixes, this update add several new features.

New features include:

  • Analog Boost
Bass enhancement algorithm for the extra deep and punchy basses.
  • Enhanced Arpeggiator
The further improved arpeggiator features arpeggiator patterns, swing factor, and adjustable note length. All parameters can be modulated in real time.
  • Random Patch Generator
The intelligent generator does not only produce completely random patches. With the help of two adjustable parameters, everything is possible from a slight variation to a completely different sound.
  • Sound Categories
Imagine you have a bass sound and you are in need of a similar one. Scan the Virus sound memory with a single click and mask all non-bass sounds.

The update will become available as a free download from the Access Music web site within the next weeks.
