Mackie SA1232 Now Shipping to European Dealers March 15, 2002
Mackie Designs Inc. (NASDAQ: MKIE) announced that their new 1300 watt SA1232 three-way, sound reinforcement loudspeaker is now shipping to European dealers. Originally announced late last year, the SA1232 benefits from the same Mackie Active Technology currently available in Mackie's highly successful SR1530 and SRM450 sound reinforcement loudspeakers.
The SA1232 is a three-way, tri-amplified, horn loaded system that is designed to provide high definition and extreme output level sound reinforcement for club or regional touring bands, club PA systems, and medium to large size churches. The SA1232 features high-quality RCF components including two 12-inch woofers with 3-inch inside/outside high temperature coil technology, a high-output horn loaded 6-inch midrange speaker and a one-inch exit compression driver mounted on a wide dispersion, 90° x 40° mid/high frequency Optimized Wavefront' horn design.
The SA1232 is powered by a unique, integrated amplifier module that contains three separate amplifiers channels--one for each driver, which together generate 1300 watts RMS of total power and a maximum peak SPL of 133 dB. Integrated electronics provide electronic equalization, time correction and phase alignment along with complete electronic and component protection circuitry. The SA1232 also includes a single line level control.
The Mackie engineered trapezoidal cabinet is designed to withstand Neanderthal-levels of roadie and rental company abuse. The top and bottom of the enclosure are molded using a high-impact resistant composite resin, and the front, back and sides are constructed of heavy duty, 13-ply Baltic Birch used by fine cabinetmakers and high-end audiophile speaker systems. The weight-balanced SA1232 features two large-grip side handles while top and bottom handles allow optimal portability, set-up and repositioning.
