March 14, 2002
Advertisement March 13, 2002 Ableton announced version 1.5 of Live, the award-winning sequencing instrument for MacOS 9, MacOSX, and Windows. The new version has everything to make sure Live will perfectly fit in every studio and stage environment. New Features include:
The 1.5 update will be available as a free download for Windows, MacOS 9 and Mac OS X from www.ableton.com on April 1. About Live Live is an audio sequencer that can be played like an instrument. Live allows the user to bring together audio material from various sources. All the samples used are adjusted to the tempo of the song in real time and without changing the pitch. Even long pieces with tempo variations play in perfect sync. Samples can be played back and new ones can be recorded and triggered using the mouse, computer keyboard or MIDI notes. Drag-and-drop can be used to put together any sequence of effects for sound editing, without interrupting the music. Every action during a jam is recorded and can be post-edited in detail, including all the automation of the mixer and effects. With Live, musicians and DJs can record, loop, edit, tweak, and launch sounds without ever stopping the music. Pricing and Availability Live for MAC OS X and Windows is currently available at select dealers in 17 countries and at www.ableton.com. Live has a suggested retail price of Euro 349 or US$ 299.95. The free 1.5 upgrade can be downloaded from the Ableton website. For more information, visit their web site at http://www.ableton.com/.
