Dynaudio Acoustics is now shipping AIR Base-1 and AIR Base-2 Active Subwoofers - the first two subwoofer releases in the AIR Series. The AIR Base subwoofers integrate with AIR Series monitors delivering unique features such as integrated Bass Management and presets. "In Stereo as well as 5.1, the AIR Series defines a new level of performance and operational convenience in the speaker world by utilizing DSP and networking technology. With the AIR Base subwoofers now shipping we are ready to equip studios in almost any application with a full-blown intelligent monitor system.," says Business Unit Manager at Dynaudio Acoustics, Carsten Lebeck. AIR Base-1 is the more compact dedicated AIR Series active subwoofer with a Dynaudio 10" woofer intended for smaller rooms, while the AIR Base-2 with two 10" woofers is suited for small to medium sized rooms. Both Air Base 1&2 works in conjunction with the AIR 6 or AIR 15 monitor systems. The new AIR Series monitors can be controlled from the menu on the front of a Master monitor via a 32 segment LCD display, or through an optional dedicated hardware remote, or an optional dedicated software application (Mac and PC). The user interface allows for storing and recall of factory and user presets taking into account reference levels, LFE sensitivity, etc. Global level in system as well as solo/mute of individual speakers can be controlled centrally at anytime. A dedicated installer's software package (the "tool-box") opens up possibilities for advanced setting-up/alignment. The "tool-box" includes four parametric EQs and delay for each speaker. An Integrated Bass management solution features selectable crossover-points and can be switched on/off on the fly. Two 200-watt PWM amplifiers working with an advanced Switch mode PSU power the AIR Series monitors. The AIR6 and AIR15 monitors are both currently shipping - and are available in master and slave versions. The master and slave monitors are identical in terms of amplification and processing, the difference is in inputs and display. The master monitors feature AES/EBU digital I/O, BNC Wordclock, 2 Analog Inputs (optional), 3 TC LINK connectors, and a display/user interface on the front. The slave monitors are identical to the Master monitors but the inputs are limited to two 2 TC LINK I/O connectors on the back panel and does not have a front panel display. Slave monitors rely on input from the Master monitor transported to the Slave through the TC link. A monitor system (a combination of master and slave units) is controlled centrally from either the front of a master unit or from the optional dedicated remote control, or the optional Mac/PC software application. The dedicated remote secures central control and convenience, and an advanced SW package offers advanced EQ and DELAY tools for acoustic consultants and installers. Configurable in both stereo and 5.1 monitoring setups, AIR Series monitors are matched and interchangeable out of the box and provide full system integration and networking capabilities, enabling Total Recall and central control functions. They have been developed specifically to comply with the demands arising from 5.1 productions in any application, from the Film, Post, and Broadcast industries to DVD, Mastering and Recording studios.
