Meinl Introduces Marathon Series Classic Wood Congas

March 19, 2002

These new congas from Meinl come in traditional sizes: 11" Quinto, 11 3/4" Conga, and 12 1/2" Tumba. Available colors are SNT (Super Natural), WR (Wine Red), and VSB (Vintage Sunburst).

The shell is made from two ply rubber wood (Hevea brasiliensis Muell.-Arg.) and the hand selected True-Skin buffalo heads provide a wide sound spectrum from voluminous basses to cutting slaps. The 2.5 mm black powder coated rounded SSR rims offer best possible playing comfort.

Every conga of the Marathon Classic Series includes the new Meinl Steely II Conga Stand (patent pending), the Meinl Tune Up Oil, and a L-shaped Meinl Tuning Key.
