RED Sound announces a hot new version of its acclaimed DarkStar analog-modelling synthesizer, DarkStar XP2. The heart of the original DARKSTAR remains unchanged - stunning modelled analog sounds faithfully recreating vintage analog synth sounds at a fraction of the price. The basic specification still boasts 8-voice polyphony with 2 oscillators per voice, 5-part multi-timbral operation, joystick control, pink/white/blue noise generators and two external audio inputs. New features include 4 individual assignable outputs [all audio connectors now 1/4" jack], additional sine waveform, jog dial control for simple program/voice select, headphone output, master volume control and a new purple/silver colour scheme. The optional conversion feature has now been improved to accommodate two application chips simultaneously. When a second application is installed, either one can be accessed instantly from the front panel allowing the user to switch between applications at the touch of a button. Conversion kit prices will remain at £29.50 with the VOCODA option being the first available this year.
All RED products are covered by a 3-year warranty. For more information, visit their web site at http://www.redsound.com/.
