More then one year ago, Hartmann open the door to a new world of synthesizing and handling sound with the NEURON synthesizer based on a neural network synthesis engine. The Hartmann sound designers have spent more time with the instrument and the software MODELmaker, to create a whole bunch of fresh sounds and models, showing all the incredible potential and facets of neural synthesis. A total of 150 new Neuron sounds are being demoed at Musikmesse. Dennis Emmel is presenting the new soundset, using the Neuron in a 5.1 setup. Dennis is working as a sound designer and musician for some major acts, such as De-Phazz and the accoustic band "Blackbyrds", whos first album will appear later this year (Pirate Records/Sony music). MODELmaker Software With the MODELmaker software, any sample material can be transferred into Neuron models. The graphical user interface helps to easily create multilayers, arrange and prepare samples (AIFF format) and thus render a Neuron model out of any imaginable sound source. The models can then be loaded on the Neuron hard drive and used inside the resynators of the Neuron Synthesizer. The software enables the choice of different analysis algorithms to create dedicated parameters for a model. This software is available now and is being shipped free with any purchase of a Neuron Synthesizer. Together with a PC (MAC OS9 version available now, OSX and PC version later this spring) and a USB network hub, the user can create his personal, dedicated Neuron model library.
