BIAS Launches "Spark to Peak" Promotion

Peak 4.0

Peak 4.1 offered to Spark and Spark XL customers at just $299 US for a limited time.

March 31, 2004

BIAS Inc. today announced that Peak 4.1 would now be offered at a substantial discount to users of TC Electronic's Spark and Spark XL audio software.

In addition to offering many additional features and interface enhancements including MP and Multithreaded processing, a flexible and streamlined brushed-metal interface, support for VST and AU plug-ins, and powerful new processing tools including ImpulseVerb, Sqweez Harmonic Rotate and more, Peak 4.1 now includes Roxio's Jam 6 - the Redbook standard CD mastering software for Mac OS X - and SFX Machine LT, a limited edition of the multi-effects sound design plug-in. The inclusion of Jam 6 with Peak 4.1 creates a complete solution for stereo recording, editing, processing, and mastering. The addition of SFX Machine LT adds additional sound design features to Peak's robust DSP arsenal.

Peak and Jam Integration

Peak offers stereo audio editing and processing capabilities along with support for most popular audio formats, including Jam Image. Users can easily create regions and playlists within Peak, then save them as Jam Images for easy burning with Jam. In turn, Jam features the ability to launch Peak as an external audio editor. This integration offers an easy and flexible workflow between both applications. The addition of Jam to Peak enables users to include track indexes, track names, ISRC codes (International Standard Recording Code), and additional information necessary for the production of commercial replication-ready CDs. While Peak 4.1 supports direct CD burning - creating Redbook CD's that can be played on any CD player - customers requiring full access to the Redbook specification will appreciate the addition of Jam 6.

Peak for Sound Design - More DSP with SFX Machine LT

Peak 4 added loads of additional processing with features such as ImpulseVerb - a powerful convolution based reverb that includes over 250 MB of sampled room environments ranging from exotic cathedrals and other spaces from various locations around the world - Harmonic Rotate, Vbox SE multi-effects matrix, Sqweez compressor/limiter, Freq 4 band paragraphic EQ, and 25 additional VST effects. In addition, Peak 4 added support for Audio Units, giving sound designers virtually unlimited processing options. The addition of SFX Machine LT adds even more sound design power by including 21 appropriately named presets such as Multi-Vox 3, RoboTalk, BackwardsFragment 5, Jimi Echo, Triggered Wah+Dist, and more. A popular "Randomize" feature is also included and customers may upgrade to the full edition of SFX Machine at a discount by selecting the upgrade link within the plug-in. Combining SFX Machine LT with Peak's already impressive DSP toolset will be a substantial benefit to both serious sound designers and casual users alike.

Multi-threaded, G4 and G5 DSP Optimized, Multi-Processor Capable, Fully Panther Compatible

Peak 4.1 is multi-threaded - which means customers can take advantage of being able to perform several tasks simultaneously such as opening and playing files while processing others in the background. In addition, such processing is super fast due to several DSP optimizations for the G4 and G5. Customers using dual processor G4s and G5s will especially notice a significant performance boost.

Pricing, Eligibility, and Availability

The regular edition of Peak 4.1 has a suggested retail price of $499 US. The "Spark to Peak" cross-grade will be offered from now until June 31st through the worldwide network of BIAS resellers and distributors for 299 Euro/US (excluding VAT/Tax and shipping and handling). In order to qualify, customers of Spark and Spark XL must send in the cover of their user/installation guide along with their serial number (instructions are included with the Peak 4.1 Cross-grade package). Only Spark and Spark XL customers qualify (users of Spark ME, LE, Plus and other non-XL or full Spark editions are ineligible
