DLN Sound Creates FM Library for Kurzweil PC1x and PC2 March 31, 2004
At Musikmesse, DLN Sound announced the KFM Selection PC
($19.95), an FM synthesis-based set of 67 sounds for the Kurzweil PC1x and
PC2 (all models). The KFM Selection PC
unleashes the hidden synthesis capabilities of the PC1x/PC2.
The sounds employ DLN Sound's KFM technology, which takes FM
synthesis, extending and combining it with the other
synthesis, effects processing and real-time control capabilities of the
PC1x/PC2.
The KFM Selection PC contains classic and contemporary sounds,
comprising electric pianos, bass, percussion sounds, pads and strings,
synthetic sounds, and so on. The KFM Selection PC suits a variety of musical
styles: it includes recreations of classic Yamaha DX7 sounds, recalling
atmospheres of the '80s and '90s, and new, previously unheard electronic
timbres for contemporary productions. As a bonus, the KFM Selection PC
offers several additive synthesis sounds.
Every sound can be controlled in real-time via the
physical controllers of the PC1x/PC2: sliders, wheels, switches, after
touch, breath controller. Effects have been designed
specifically for the PC1x/PC2. A comprehensive Musician's
Guide describes the sounds and their assigned controllers in detail. No
hardware options are required to use the KFM Selection PC. The KFM Selection
PC can be loaded into the PC1x/PC2 using most MIDI equipped computers and
MIDI sequencer devices, and stays in the PC1x/PC2's memory even while power
is switched off.
The DLN Sound website provides audio demos, and example KFM sounds to download and evaluate before
ordering. For more information, visit their web site at www.dlnsound.com. |
