M-Audio Releases Keystation 61es Semi-Weighted Controller

M-Audio has made an addition to their Keystation series of products--the Keystation 61es. This control solution unites a semi-weighted keyboard with simple USB connectivity to fill the needs of musicians.
Class compliancy under Windows XP or Mac OS X enables the user to get started immediately--no driver installation required. Simply plug in the USB cable, which also provides power to the unit, and the Keystation 61es is be ready to used with any MIDI application. Drivers are also included for Windows 95/98/Me/2000 and Mac OS 9.1 users. With the optional power supply, the Keystation 61es can also be used as a stand-alone controller for hardware synthesizers and more.
In addition to the 61 semi-weighted, velocity-sensitive keys, the Keystation 61es includes a pitch wheel, assignable modulation wheel, assignable slider control, and assignable foot pedal jack. Additional functions include transposition and the ability to send program and bank change messages. Keystation 61es also ships with the Maximum Audio Tools software bundle (Keyboard Edition), which is designed to facilitate immediate music-making. The unit will be available in both musical instrument and consumer markets.
The Keystation 61es will ship in May with an MSRP of $249.95.
