RME Updates All Windows and OS X Drivers April 5, 2004
RME announced completely revised support of Apple's current operating system, Mac OS X. All drivers were
revised and improved with many useful features. The improvements include power management (standby, resume), MIDI timing, compatibility with the latest
Aluminum PowerBooks, PCI bus performance, 192 kHz operation with the HDSP 9632, disconnect mode for
Digiface / Multiface / RPM, and more. The drivers are available on the download page of RME's website. All
drivers were tested and verified with 10.2.8 up to the latest 10.3.3.
The information for Mac OS X on the website was updated as well, including information on driver updates,
compatibility and frequently asked questions. A special Mac OS X FAQ offers valuable hints and background
information about drivers and problems with driver installation.
A new feature of the updated Windows drivers is the support for GSIF 2.0, the new interface format of the
upcoming Gigastudio 3.0. Furthermore, all drivers have been updated with the latest Mac-driver's features, like
power management and Disconnect mode.
