April 04, 2004

Paiste announced the addition of several cymbal models and sizes in their professional class. The vast program of the Signature series is being enriched by a 19" Full Crash and 21" Full and Silver Mellow Rides in response to the resurgent popularity of uneven sizes in Rides and larger Crashes. Signature cymbals were introduced 15 years ago, as Paiste created an entirely new series of cymbals from its patented Signature Bronze alloy. The recent surge in popularity of the 2002 Classic mandated that Paiste enlarge the series again beyond the classic line up. 2002 Classic gains two new models, the Power Crash (16", 18" & 20") and the Thin Crash (16", 17", 18", 19" & 20"). The energetic, warm and brilliant nature of the 2002 Classic produces a very straight forward and explosive Power Crash sound, and a very sturdy and versatile Thin Crash sound. The larger Thin Crashes, in particular, are a direct response to the musical tastes of drummers who need versatile large Crash cymbals which they can use for patterned playing to fill sound spaces. 2002 Classic cymbals were introduced over 30 years ago to address the sound needs of the new and exploding genres of electrified Beat and Rock music. Signature and 2002 Classic Cymbals are entirely made by hand in Switzerland using traditional methods that have remained unchanged in over half a century. Signature Full Crash 19"
