Following their NAMM show "sneak peek" last January, TAPCO is using the Musikmesse/Pro Light and Sound Convention in Frankfurt this week to officially roll out their new range of simple to use premium analog mixers, the Blend Series.

"The Blend Series mixers are intended to make high performance analog mixing accessible to virtually anyone," commented TAPCO product manage Ray Tantzen. "They are also intended as a 'step up' to our new entry-level Mix Series, which we are also introducing this week in Frankfurt."

Tantzen continued, "Both models in the family, the Blend 6 and Blend 16, benefit from the design and engineering horsepower of the Mackie engineering team by incorporate trademark Mackie-inspired technologies such as low-noise, high-headroom mic preamps, and rugged construction. But the Blend Series' unique color scheme competitive price are entirely TAPCO."

The Blend 6 Analog Mixer

The six-channel Blend 6 features two high-headroom, low-noise mic preamps that were designed by the same team behind Mackie's VLZ Pro and Onyx mic preamps. Also onboard are two mono mic/line/instrument channels, two stereo line channels, a two-band EQ per channel, 48v Phantom power, two aux sends, an eight-segment LED metering, as well as separate phones and control room levels.

The Blend 6's compatibility with Mac and PC platforms, and any recording software that supports ASIO or Core Audio. footprint, combined with its affordable price, make it the perfect "swiss army knife" mixer for both live sound and recording applications. The Blend 6 has a manufacturer's suggested retail price of 129 Euros and is now available.

The Blend 16 Analog Mixer

The 16-channel, 4-bus, TAPCO Blend 16 takes desktop or live recording to a whole new level by incorporating a 24-bit, 96kHz USB connection that provides a stereo mix directly into a laptop or desktop computer. The USB interface allows for connectivity with either MAC or PC to send and receive a 24-bit/48kHz stereo audio mix.

In addition, the Blend 16 offers a 20-bit digital effects processor, a seven-band graphic EQ, and eight Mackie-designed mic preamps, 4-bus design for flexibility in both live and studio sound applications, a three-band EQ per channel, 48v Phantom power, two aux sends, an eight-segment LED metering, as well as separate phones and control room levels. Available in early Q3, 2005, the Blend 16 has a manufacturer's suggested retail price of 439 Euros.
