VRX918S Subwoofer Added to JBL's VERTEC Family

April 06, 2005

VRX918S JBL Professional has introduced the VRX918S subwoofer at Musikmesse. The VRX918S is an 18-inch, 37 kg (81 lb) low-frequency speaker system, intended for use as a high-performance satellite subwoofer or as a building block for larger arrays.

Acoustically identical to the SRX718S, the VRX918S is designed to meet the needs of users who wish to incorporate subwoofers into a flying VRX array. This is accomplished through suspension hardware modeled on the design used for the VRX Series VRX932LA. The entire array can then be flown using JBL's VRX932LA-AF Array Frame.

The VRX918S is compact in size (20.0" x 23.5" x 29.5"), yet provides a power rating of 800 W / 1600 W / 3200 W (Continuous/Program/Peak). The 13-ply birch enclosure is rigidly braced for solid response. Threaded insert points are provided for attachment of the optional WK-4 wheel kit.

Additionally, the VRX918S incorporates JBL's patented lightweight and high-power Differential Drive woofers. For added flexibility, the subwoofer retains the heavy-duty M20 pole mount receptacle for ground-stacked applications.
