Taking advantage of more than forty years of experience in making the finest electronic musical instruments, Korg has created an amazing new synthesis powerhouse, highlighted by a bold and innovative design.
Based on Korg's cutting-edge MMT engine, this synthesizer offers a variety of synthesis algorithms together with multiple effects, new comb filter and wave shaping functionality, modulation sequencing, as well as a new technology called formant-motion vocoding. All seamlessly integrated in a single instrument that delivers the sounds of the future today.
Introducing the synthesist's dream machine --- the Korg RADIAS Synthesizer / Vocoder. The music of the future starts here.
Main features
- Based on an advanced analog modeling engine, RADIAS also features multiple effect processors, a vocoder, and a dedicated keyboard (RADIAS-R rackmount also available).
- The cutting-edge MMT (Multiple Modeling Technology) synth engine includes numerous new ideas in the oscillator, filter, and amp sections - including formant waveforms, a wide variety of PCM samples, a new comb filter and wave shaping functionality.
- Each program features up to four timbres that can be used either individually or together, offering a broad range of sound-creating potential.
- Each of the 32 drum kits can use up to sixteen fully-shaped instruments.
- Each program contains two 32-step sequencers (or one 64-step) for playing back recorded patterns or phrases.
- Three modulation sequencers can provide smooth or stepped parameter adjustments, just as if using an analog sequencer.
- Six virtual patches allow enormously flexible modulation routing and sound creation.
- Sixteen-band vocoder can produce classic sounds, and thanks to our new Formant Motion function, it can record and playback your voice for new and unparalleled sonic adventures.
- A headset microphone is included so you can enjoy vocoding right away
- Two audio input jacks and an internal envelope follower allow external audio sources to be processed, to be used as a modulation source, and even trigger the RADIAS.
- The built-in arpeggiator features six arpeggio types and mute-able steps to create complex and dynamic rhythmic elements.
- A full complement of effects are provided, including a two-band equalizer and two Insert effects for each timbre, plus a Master effect for the entire Program.
- A rich variety of 256 sound programs are preloaded, ranging from authentic analog sounds to mind-blowing synth sounds that take full advantage of the RADIAS' advanced capabilities.
- Creating your own sounds is easy using the 128 template programs provided for each of the timbre, insert effect, and master effect sections.
- Up to 24 voices of polyphony with dynamic voice allocation.
- A single USB connection to your computer can provide both MIDI and sound editing capabilities.
- RADIAS Sound Editor software is included (Mac and Windows).
