Alesis Introduces Two New Podcasting Packages

Alesis proudly introduces two new podcasting kits. Available for either USB or FireWire audio interfaces, the new Alesis podcasting bundles provide all the necessary hardware and software required to create audio files that can be posted to and downloaded from the Internet. With the new podcasting bundles, Alesis delivers a breakthrough, intuitive package enabling musicians to record their music, distribute it, and promote their musical activities online.

With the exploding interest in podcasting—the practice of creating one's own "radio shows" that can be downloaded from the Internet—people everywhere are sharing their expertise in various disciplines and even editorializing about their favorite topics. Now, Alesis takes the guesswork out of this popular activity by bundling the right tools for the job into two easy-to-use packages—one for computer users using a USB audio interface, and another for those using FireWire.

Regardless of the computer's audio interface, these feature packed systems include a dynamic microphone with a desktop microphone stand and a mic cable. Also included in these bundles is Steinberg's award-winning Cubase LE general purpose recording software, which enables musicians to compose music, along with a comprehensive podcasting application for the creation and management of one's podcasts.

These two incredible podcasting kits are identical in every feature except for the included audio mixer. For computer users who prefer using USB for their audio interface, the USB podcasting kit contains the Alesis MultiMix 8 USB mixer with two channels of simultaneous record capability. For those who prefer using FireWire, the FireWire podcasting kit contains the Alesis MultiMix 8 FireWire mixer, which packs a whopping eight channels of simultaneous record capability. Each mixer contains the right combination of inputs, outputs, and signal routing options to facilitate effortless recording of both music and dialog—making the new Alesis podcasting kits a comprehensive, exciting solution for working with audio.

Both MultiMix mixer models include 4 high-gain mic/line (XLR and quarter-inch balanced) inputs with phantom power, 2 stereo balanced quarter-inch line inputs, an aux send that can send to onboard or external effects, and a stereo aux return. These exceptional mixers also include a generous assortment of onboard effects, 3-band EQ per channel with high/low shelving and mid bandpass/reject, plus numerous additional professional features.
