Emulation is being redefined with Tube-Tech and TC Electronic announcing the Tube-Tech CL 1B plug-in for PowerCore. The CL 1B plug-in is based upon highly advanced patented component emulation technology, and brings the legendary analogue sound of the CL 1B compressor/limiter to the PowerCore and Pro Tools platforms. The plug-in will be available in spring 2007 and they retail at EUR 560 excl. VAT and EUR 740 excl. VAT for PowerCore and Pro Tools respectively.
The CL 1B plug-ins has up to 30 dBs of gain and a continuously variable threshold ranging from 2.1 to 10.1. It features innovative attack/release controls, with three different settings, enabling the CL 1B to be used as an insert- or bus compressor.
The Sidechain/Link button in the stereo instance of the CL 1B plug-in emulates the dynamic master/slave relationship between the left and right channels, a feature usually found when having two units interconnected via the Sidechain Bus found on the hardware version of CL 1B.
An ability unique to the CL 1B plug-in is the advanced metering, capable of displaying the left channel, the right channel or both channels.
The CL 1B uses a carefully crafted algorithm, so efficient it allows the use of up to 2 instances in stereo @ 44.1 kHz or 1 instance in stereo @ 96 kHz per DSP chip on 2nd generation PowerCore hardware (Compact, FireWire, Express, PCI mkII & Unplugged). The CL 1B plug-in runs on all hardware versions of PowerCore, on Pro Tools HD and HD Accel systems.
