In tandem with the announcement that JBL Professional's V4 DSP preset library for VERTEC® would soon be available for Crown's I-Tech platform, the two brands are also announcing the introduction of 44 new JBL loudspeaker presets specifically tailored for use with Crown's XTi Series of power amplifiers.

Downloadable for free from the Crown International (www.crownaudio.com) and JBL Professional (www.jblpro.com) websites as of Musikmesse Prolight+Sound's opening day, the System Architect device files will comprise six presets for JBL's JRX Series loudspeakers, six for MRX, 19 for SRX, and 13 for VRX.

According to Andy Flint, Crown vertical market manager for portable PA, "The release of these presets shows the commitment of the Harman Pro companies to offer simplified system solutions. With XTi's extensive feature set and now the JBL preset library — which allows for quick and easy system setup and provides tunings direct from the factory — Crown has once again raised the bar."

The highly successful XTi Series is equipped with Crown's extremely light and efficient switch-mode power supply, which allows all three models — even the XTi 4000 providing 1200 watts per channel (4 ohms) — to operate reliably on only a 15-amp plug. DSP is also integrated into each of the amplifiers providing users with all the tools necessary to set up their systems. The line further provides computer connectivity via USB, enabling the amplifiers to be set up and controlled/monitored via a PC running Harman Pro HiQnet™ System Architect software (downloadable from http://hiqnet.harmanpro.com/ Built-in DSP allows users to set crossover points, graphic EQ, a limiter, and delay for time aligning loudspeakers.
