Mapex Meridian Takes Top Drum Set Award At Musikmesse

Advertisement At the annual Musikmesse convention in Frankfurt, Germany the Mapex Meridian Maple won the 2009 MIPA award for Best Drum Set. MIPA (Musikmesse International Press Award) is a press organization comprised of over 112 magazines from all over the world, including Modern Drummer and DRUM! in the United States and Drummer Magazine from the UK. Representatives from these publications voted for the best products of 2009 in over 40 categories. The MIPA award is widely considered the "Grammy®of the musical instrument industry." The MIPA judges were particularly impressed with the quality, value and sonic performance of new the Mapex Meridian Maple series. In addition to the Meridian Series nomination, Mapex was also nominated in the drum hardware category for the all-new 700 Series Hardware. "Needless to say, we're extremely pleased and honored to accept this award," said Joe Vasko, Vice President and General Manager for Mapex USA. "This symbol of recognition is a direct reflection of the talent and hard work of our R&D team. The Mapex Meridian is destined to become one of our most successful drum sets ever." The Musikmesse convention is held annually in Frankfurt and features exhibits from over 300 manufacturers from 47 countries. The gigantic four-day festival attracts over 78 thousand visitors.
