Wave/4 Digital Audio Card from Gadget Labs Now Shipping

August 13, 1997

Gadget Labs announced today that the Wave/4 PC digital audio card is now shipping worldwide. With 4 + 4 channels of pro-quality digital audio and integrated MIDI interface, the Wave/4 card is the first PC card to enable true multi-channel recording and playback of digital audio for $399*.

"The features of the Wave/4 card are modeled after the highly successful, mini-studio tape recorder. We created a basic building block that enables musicians and multimedia producers to easily expand their creative tools into the new world of PC-based digital audio", said Rob Ranck, company founder. "Unlike other cards that only offer 2 input channels or lack integrated MIDI, the Wave/4 card is a complete mini-studio hardware solution . Combined with the processing power of the PC and music audio software, the Wave/4 card is the first to offer uncompromising pro-quality audio and features at a breakthrough price."

The Wave/4 card uses high-quality, discrete digital converters to achieve professional quality audio with greater than 90 dB dynamic range. The card incorporates Gadget Labs' exclusive SoundCache architecture to produce glitch-free audio recording and playback. Designed to be truly "plug and play", the Wave/4 card is easy to install with no switches to configure. It is shipped with software drivers for Windows. 95 and includes the GoldWave audio editor. Compatibility with leading music/audio applications such as Cakewalk Pro Audio, Cubase VST, Cool Edit, Musicator, Samplitude and SAW is ensured with the Wave/4 card's full support of Microsoft standard WAVE device interfaces.
