BitHeadz Announces ReWire Support - Free Updates
March 29, 1999BitHeadz has announced the release of Retro AS-1 v.1.3.1 Analog Synthesizer for Mac, and Unity DS-1 v. 1.2.1 Digital Sampler for Mac, both now with ReWire* implementation.
Now it is easier than ever for all of you Cubase users to create
professional quality music entirely in your computer. Simply drop the
BitHeadz supplied plug-in into your Mac's extensions folder and you can
route the audio output of Retro and Unity directly into the Cubase audio
mixer using ReWire*, so now you can use your VST effects on the outputs of
Retro and Unity! Unity DS-1 now supports up to 16 individual MIDI channels
of stereo audio plus a main stereo output of all channels. Retro supports
up to 16 individual MIDI channels of audio plus a main output of all
channels. Channels that have been assigned to individual outs are taken out
of the Main L/R mix.
With features like patch name support and the ability to control of all
Retro and Unity parameters through NRPN's (Non Registered Parameter
Numbers), you can have a very powerful music making machine if you have a
fast processor. Another enhancement to Retro and Unity is 96 kHz output for
the highest fidelity sound available in a synth or sampler. Or, for you
low-fi fans, Unity now has an insert effect for lowering the sample rate or
bit depth to really annihilate your samples. A new variable headroom
parameter has also been added for more control, and the Record to Disk
feature in Retro and Unity now respond to MIDI start/stop commands. Windows
users can look for ReWire* support for Unity DS-1 and Retro AS-1in the near
future.
Retro AS-1 retails for $259.00 and Unity DS-1 retails for $449.00, but
registered owners can download free updates from the web. Free demo
versions can be downloaded from the BitHeadz web site at www.bitheadz.com.
