Kurzweil is proud to announce the upcoming release of the
K2600. The K2600 is the next stage in the evolution of Kurzweil's synthesizer/sampler
instruments. The K2600 features 12MB of ROM (Stereo Piano included), KDFX and
V.A.S.T. to create 495 state of the art Programs and 100 stunning interactive
Setups.
With the inclusion of KDFX, the redesigned audio path and 8 Balanced or unbalanced
(TRS) audio outputs, the K2600's signal is remarkably clean, hot and bright. The
K2600 also features user installable options including sample RAM, PRAM and ROM
options. The K2600 will take four 8MB ROM blocks which expand the K2600to 44MB.
The K2600's 16MB of sample RAM can also be expanded to 128MB. In addition, the
K2600's standard PRAM is 512k and can be expanded to 1.5MB. The K2600 no longer
has "Drum Channels" as all 16 MIDI channels can access 32 layer programs.
The K2600 sample option provides a 20-bit digital output and allows external
analog or digital stereo signals to be processed 'live' through the entire architecture
in real-time. The KDS option, provides not only an 8 channel digital output, but
an 8 channel digital input. This allows the K2600 to process 8 digital signals
via DMTi and send process signals out separately or digitally mix them to stereo
(analog or AES-EBU/SPDIF) with effects and V.A.S.T. processing and real-time control.
The digital out is also available as an option without having sampling option
installed.
The K2600's software includes all of the latest features of the K2500's software
such as: KB3 Mode, Live Mode, 24 Band Vocoder, and ISO9660 compatibility . Additional
changes include a DigiTech effects emulation mode (all K2000/K2500 programs are
compatible) and 48dB of filter resonance. The K2600's upgrade path has already
been proven with the K2000 and K2500 series product and numerous enhancements
are planned for the future of the K2600.
The K2600 series will be available in an 88 note weighted action keyboard,
76 note semi-weighted action, and a 3U rack mount module. Price is to be announced,
and shipments should begin in early Fall. For more information, visit Kurzweil's website at www.kurzweilmusicsystems.com. |
