n-Track Studio 1.1 ReleasedAdds support for 24-bit soundcards
February 14, 1999
n-Track Studio 1.1 is a multitrack recording software for Windows 95/98/NT: this program allows recording, mixing and
editing of a virtually unlimited number of audio and MIDI tracks. The new 1.1 version adds a number of new features. Among the many improvements: the program now supports 20 and 24 -bit soundcards with the ability to record simultaneously
from multiple inputs and to send the output to multiple channels; sample accurate resolution and dedicated facilities allows to
easily create wave files loops; the native AutoVol, Echo and Chorus effects have been rewritten in DirectX format to make them
available for use with other compatible programs; the volume and pan automation has been enhanced and now supports multiple
level undo.
The program's ease of use makes it perfect for the music hobbyist who has a computer and wants to record his own music
without having to spend hundreds of dollars for classic tape recording machines or other professional software packages: the
program exploits today's computing power for realizing (in a much cheaper way) functionality that only 2 or three years ago
were limited to professional or semi-professional studio equipment. All is needed is a full-duplex sound card (i.e. capable of
simultaneous recording and playback) or two or more soundcards.
DirectX real-time audio Plug-Ins can be applied non-destructively to each track, allowing the user to listen immediately to the
result of a change in the parameters of an effect. Basic wave editing operations can be performed from within the program.
Volume and pan evolution can be programmed by drawing it on the timeline window. When all the tracks have been recorded
and all the settings are correct, it's possible to mix down all the tracks to a single wave file, to store the song and for eventually
recording it to a CD-R.
n-Track Studio 1.1 for Windows costs $35.
