Muon Offers Free "Virtual Analog" Synth
VST Plug-In
January 5, 2000
Muon Software, previously known on the freeware scene for
their Buzz (a tracker program) plug-ins, is now purely focused on the commercial
market. In order to celebrate their move to commercial software they are offering
their Muon "virtual analog" synthesizer Windows VST plug-in for free.
The Muon Atom is an 8 voice polyphonic software synthesiser with powerful
filters and a warm "analog" sound. The Atom fully integrates into the
VST mixing environment, as it is inserted like any plug-in (though in an "instrument
rack") and directly sends its outputs to the VST monitor mixer.
Features include:
- Standard VST rack interface for easy parameter editing, patch/bank storage
and recall.
- Two oscillators per voice (sawtooth and variable pulse waves), based on classic
analogue synthesis.
- 24 dB per octave low-pass filter with resonance.
- Independent ADSRs for filter cutoff and amplifier.
- Sample-accurate response to MIDI events.
- 64-bit internal processing.
(note: the free offer ends Spring 2000)
