M-Audio, MIDIMAN's professional audio division, announced today that the Delta R-BUS digital
audio interface is now shipping. The Delta R-BUS is a PCI expansion card compatible with both the Macintosh and PC platforms that allows the user
to connect to Roland R-BUS-compatible devices, with added S/PDIF and analog options. Delta represents a series of expandable PCI cards in a variety
of analog and digital configurations, representing years of development and extensive driver support.
The Delta R-BUS is a tool for any studio that uses a computer and a Roland R-BUS-compatible device. R-BUS is a 24-bit 8-channel format
that is used to transfer digital audio and MIDI control information to and from R-BUS equipped products, including: Roland's VM-7000-Series and
VM-3100ProV-Mixers, VS-2480 24-track Digital Studio Workstation, VSR-880 Digital Studio Recorder and XV-5080 128-Voice Synthesizer/Sample
Playback Module.
The Delta R-BUS is a versatile card that not only supports the 8-channel R-BUS standard, but also provides S/PDIF I/O for digital transfers and
mastering, analog ins and outs for recording and monitoring, digital mixing, control over SCMS, and more. Multiple R-BUS cards may be used
together, and the Delta R-BUS can be combined with other audio cards (including other M-Audio Delta cards) to make a comprehensive
hard disk recording solution. With multicard support, sync capabilities, and extensive driver support that includes ASIO, EASI, GSIF as well as
MME, Sound Manager and WDM drivers, the Delta R-BUS is a good choice for computer recording in conjunction with this popular line of Roland
products. The Delta R-BUS is scheduled for availability at the beginning of September, with a projected MSRP of $349.95.
Features include:
- 8-channel R-BUS digital input & output on standard R-BUS connector.
- 10x10 24-bit/96khz full-duplex recording interface.
- R-BUS-to-S/PDIF or S/PDIF-to-R-BUS conversion in real time.
- Stereo coaxial S/PDIF digital input & output.
- Stereo analog input & output with high dynamic range and low distortion.
