NemeSys announced today that version 2.2 of its award winning GigaStudio line of professional sampling workstations is shipping. For a limited time, GigaSampler and GigaSampler LE customers can upgrade to the award winning GigaStudio at huge savings; GigaSampler Full to GigaStudio160 - $149 (Save $250), GigaSampler LE to GigaStudio96 - $149 (Save $150).
In addition, all NemeSys sample libraries are 20% off their regular price.Compared to GigaSampler, GigaStudio v2.2 offers full compatibility with the (.GIG) v2.0 file format, providing twice the layering, new filter and amplitue LFO featues, new envelope modulation control, smoother and ‘turbo’ powered filters with faster external filter control, programmable crossfade start and finish for each layer with graphic editing, velocity curve scaling, and improved crescendo dynamics control, among other features.

GigaStudio Version 2.2 Improvements:
NemeSys has improved it’s QuickSound technology with database management performance that is up to fifty times faster than in previous releases, making sounds from literally terabytes of content all instantly playable, either singularly or polyphonically with up to 160 concurrent streams of audio. Instrument editing is also much faster, utilizing acceleration-tag features to load instruments in a fraction of previous time. The sampling engine has been improved with new envelope modulation control, smoother filters with faster external filter control, velocity curve scaling, and improved crescendo dynamics control, among other features. Integration with sequencers on the same PC is also improved via configurable system priorities and support for WDM GSIF sound cards.
Leveraging the enhancements in version 2.2, The Hollywood Edge has created a QuickSound version of it’s Hollywood Edge Premiere Edition III, IV and Edge Edition libraries, now incorporating the QuickSound database technology for every conceivable combination of descriptive sound-to-word associations. Any imaginable sound can now be located by simple or complex search criteria, such as "phone", "phone ring", "phone ring NOT bell", or "animals", "animals NOT (bird OR cat)", and so forth. Not just for locating logical groups of sound objects, the QuickSound enhanced library also facilitates instantaneous access, auditioning, streaming, and multichannel playback with automation.
