Hip Hop Shop MIDI Groove Collection from Keyfax
February 21, 2001KEYFAX Software, a producer of MIDI Samples, announces the
arrival of Hip Hop Shop, a cut and paste library of the latest hip hop and R&B grooves.
Drawing on the success of its content disk for Yamahas RM1x sequence remixer, KEYFAX has
again called upon the skills of West Coast producer and drummer extraordinaire Ron E Beck
(Tower Of Power, Sista Monica) for some of the disks most intriguing and subtle beats.
Additionally come some classic hip hop beats and loops from the East Bays Al Eaton (Ice T, and
Queen Latifah), and Chronic Musics The Beat Professor, plus some seriously warped beats from
Chuck D. protogé Bill Turner.
Hip Hop Shop contains more than 700 items in total, including 400+ drum loops (from classic
old school breakbeats to cutting edge R&B), 150+ basslines (sub bass sine waves, funk,
acoustic bass), Dr. Dre-style snakey monophonic synth lines, dripping with portamento, plus
choppy guitar grooves, scratches, gates, and the collections most interesting category:
Stuff, comprising street scenes, scary heartbeats, rumbles, gunfire, and other carefully
constructed sound FX.
Hip Hop Shop has been designed to work within, but certainly not limited to GM/2. This is a
definitive collection of hip hop and R&B parts, usable on any sequence platform, including Akai
MPC-2000, and with any MIDI sound source.
A full version of the written
manual can be viewed in advance on the Keyfax website.
