Roland Ships V-Club Electronic Drum SystemFeatures Powerful Sound Module and New Rubber Pads

July 17, 2001Roland announced that it is now shipping the new V-Club Set- an affordable electronic drum system based around the all-new TD-6 Percussion Sound Module and newly developed rubber drum pads: the 8.5-inch PD-6 single-trigger pad and 12-inch CY-6 dual-trigger cymbal pad with choke capabilities. This user-friendly set also comes with a custom MDS-6 stand and is compatible with optional dual-trigger pads—including Roland’s acclaimed mesh V-pads—allowing users to upgrade their system as their budget allows.
At the heart of the V-Club Set is the new TD-6 Percussion Sound Module. This easy-to-use tabletop module gives drummers 1,024 of Roland’s best drum and percussion sounds, 262 backing sounds and 64-voice polyphony. These sounds are arranged into 99 drum kits and can be processed with a 2-band equalizer and Ambience effect. The TD-6 also sports a 6-part sequencer with 100 Preset songs perfect for practice, plus room for up to 100 User songs which can be recorded in real time.
The TD-6’s rear panel features nine Trigger Input jacks for connecting the newly developed PD-6 and CY-6 rubber drum pads and cymbals. The set includes five 8.5-inch PD-6 single-trigger pads for playing snare, tom and hi-hat sounds—plus two 12-inch CY-6 dual-trigger cymbal pads with cymbal choke for the crash and ride. The V-Club is the only electronic percussion set in its price range to offer cymbal choke capabilities. And though the included PD-6 pads are single-trigger, the TD-6 module is compatible with optional dual-trigger pads like Roland’s PD-7/9 and mesh-head V-pads. This gives users the ability to easily upgrade their system using up to 11 pads total.
Connections to the TD-6 include nine Trigger Input jacks—Kick, Snare, Hi-Hat, Tom 1, Tom 2/AUX, Tom 3/Tom 4, Crash Cymbal 1, Crash Cymbal 2, Ride Cymbal and Hi-Hat Pedal—plus an Aux input, stereo Line output, Headphone output and MIDI connectors (In, Out/Thru).
