Based on advanced FFT technology, GRM Tools ST (Spectral Transform) is a bundle of four RTAS plug-ins designed to be used in applications that range from mastering and composition to sound design and post production. The ST plug-ins contain all of GRM's interface and control innovations, such as the elastic string, 2DController, SuperSlider, and high-level parameter interpolation, which make them intuitive, easy to use, and musical.

The plug-ins are:
Contrast. Employing an original approach to compression / expansion techniques, Contrast can be used to add vibrancy, liveliness, depth, and subtle changes in timbre to sounds in mastering applications and in revitalizing old recordings. As one user said, "It makes my old tapes come alive again. Better than when they were originally recorded." Contrast can also be used to create a wide range of extreme transformations and effects.
Equalize. A 31-band 1/3-octave graphic equalizer, this plug-in goes beyond superb sound quality to virtuoso controllability. With GRM's elastic string feature, you can manipulate multiple slider controls to form complex equalization curves with a simple mouse movement. You can shift an equalization curve to higher or lower frequencies, control an arbitrary group of faders as an ensemble, and coordinate or separate stereo channels in a variety of ways. Equalize turns an equalizer into a performance instrument.
FreqWarp. Use this plug-in to transform a sound by rearranging its spectral components in a completely free and creative way. One user said, "This is the most far out, the most radical, the most bizarre, powerful, and effective sound transformation tool I have ever seen." FreqWarp allows you to create a transformed sound by transferring the position of frequency components from the spectrum of one sound to new positions in the transformed sound. The results can be amazing.
Shift. This plug-in lets you perform two complementary sound-processing operations, separately or together. The scale operation allows you to transpose a track higher or lower, without changing the track's duration or speed, by multiplying all of the frequency components of the sound by a transposition value. The shift operation functions as a single-sideband ring modulator, sometimes called a frequency shifter, that produces transformation effects ranging from subtle distortion and detuning to major spectral change.
Designed and developed by the Groupe de Recherches Musicales de l'Institut National de l'Audiovisuel (INA-GRM) in Paris, France, GRM Tools is the result of many years of research and development in sound processing software for use by musicians, composers, and sound designers.
