Organic Breakbeats is a collection of over 1,000 original breakbeats and drum loops, with a distinctively dirt ridden heavy sound. A purposeful collection designed to create a heavy rhythmic core to any production. The loops are suitable for Hip Hop, Trip Hop, Breakbeat, Heavy Dub, Illbient and other Downtempo genres, but can also be used for any type of music requiring heavy rhythms. The drum loops are organised by BPM ranging from 70-150 bpm. There are combinations of dry beats, effected beats, and deconstructions.
The CD ships with 1,022 drum loops in PCM WAV Format, ready for use in Sonic Foundry Acid, and 1,022 equivalent REX2 files ready for use in Reason Dr Rex, NN-XT, EXS24 (Logic Audio 5.2 or later), Phatmatik and Cubase VST\SX..
REX files contain slices of a drumloop and the midi information required to play it back as it should be. This has two major advantages, the first being that you can change the tempo of the loop without effecting the pitch, and secondly as the loop is sliced up, you also have a kit made up of the individual sounds in the drumbeat! If you use either Dr REX, or NN-XT, or EXS24 (Logic 5.2 and above), these are then playable from your midi keyboard like a drumkit.
The CD also contains 1,022 WAV files featuring the whole drumloop for use in applications such as Sonic Foundry Acid and Fruity Loops, as well as any other application or sampler which can read WAV files. All loops are set to the correct bpm, number of bars, and have correctly set loop points to the whole of the loop.
The REX files are usable from the CD, and the wavs are compressed using zip compression. Utilities for unzipping are included on the CD for both PC and MAC. The wavs were compressed to fit as much on the CD as possible, as REX files are already compressed as part of the Recycle format. The CD weighs in at 675mb.
