CM Labs has released the Dashboard digital editor work surface, providing quick access to primary and secondary editing functions in ProTools. Easy to read dual slope surface design and 80-character backlit display window allow easy viewing of your labels, pan positions, send levels and plug-ins, reducing user fatigue.
Dashboard's upper panel is the mixer and monitor control section. Eight high-resolution 360-degree rotary pots control faders, pans, sends, plug-ins, automation and monitor levels. A large backlit 80 character LCD displays channel labels, rotary pot settings, metering and plug-ins. Dashboard's view section scrolls through 8-channel banks either 1-channel or 8-channels at a time. Eight channels of Mute and Solo Switches, as well as 8 "Burn" buttons for track record arming and automation control. Punch control switches under the rotary pots give you instant control for setting punch points and looping.
Dashboard's lower panel is the transport and editor section. Full size transport keys and precision balanced milled aluminum high-grade jog / shuttle / scrub wheel, are tuned to make transport a breeze. A large centrally placed timecode display gives you location information right where the controls are located. Use the 15-key autolocator keypad to go directly to any edit marker. Navigator keys give you control of zoom and track selection and allow you to make precise changes quickly and accurately.
Connect your mix outputs to the included CM Labs Monitor Interface Module (MIM) mix inputs. Connect this to your control room speakers, studio speakers and headphone amp inputs and you will be able to control the levels from the Dashboard's monitor section.
Dashboard operates as a stand-alone editor or a machine remote for Pro Tools. It may also be used as the edit section in a larger console in combination with MotorMix. Dashboard, when used as the remote for the CM Labs SixtyFour studio router, allows control of routing and level for studio monitoring, including 5.1 surround via one simple control cable.
