Yamaha Releases Version 1.6 System Software for PM1DUpgrades Include Surround Sound Support, Channel Copy and Security Functions
March 24, 2003
Yamaha announced System Software Version 1.6 for the PM1D Digital Mixing System. The software package contains all the operational enhancements and expansion capabilities released with Version 1.5, with the addition of features designed specifically for surround mixing and security.
SURROUND SOUND offers sound production in 3.1, 5.1 and 6.1 channel modes. In Surround mode, mix busses 17 through 24 are designated as surround busses. Parameters for L-R, F-R and LFE can be controlled from the Input Sel selection on the CSD1 control surface.
CONSOLE LOCK and PARAMETER LOCK provide two levels of security over the system, and offer protection when leaving the console unattended. CONSOLE LOCK will suspend all console operations; PARAMETER LOCK prohibits the change of specified settings--even when another scene is recalled. Two separate passwords can be used to allow access to each level of security.
GLOBAL CHANNEL COPY allows the operator to copy any parameter to multiple channels within one Scene Memory. With SCENE RECALL SAFE, channels can be recall "safed" either Globally or by Scene.
A PC UPLOAD function will allow the Copy Scene data to be copied from the PM1D Manager to the CS1D control surface via USB.
Current PM1D owners can receive the free upgrade through authorized Yamaha Commercial Audio dealers.
