EDL Convert 4.0 Adds New Session Formats, More

Cui Bono Soft, provider of EDL (edit decision list) related software, announced the release of version 4.0 of EDL Convert for Windows, the company's main product. EDL Convert v4 now supports 16 different project files including long awaited Pro Tools session formats.
The translation of EDLs now includes a video track; this step allows complete project transfers from one DAW to the other without the need to re-align the master video clip at a later time.
New Features in EDL Convert v4 include:
New formats
- Pro Tools: support added for Pro Tools 5.0 session format on both platforms (PC and Mac).
- Adobe Audition: now supported is the latest Adobe Audition version 1.5.
- Tascam BU Format: BU is Tascam's project container format used by multitrack devices like the MX2424 and the SX-1.
- CMX, Grassvalley: added basic import support for CMX3600 and Grassvalley EDL files.
Video track
- Conversion and transfer of one video file per EDL is possible.
Audio Formats
- AVI audio: added support for AVI files being used as audio files in EDLs.
- Dummy Files: for missing files audio dummies can be created.
- 32bit IEEE Float and 32bit linear PCM support: automatic conversions
- Sound Designer II: support added; available resource forks are now read.

- Free choice of the target format for referenced audio files.
