Johnson's Summit Series guitars feature selected woods including Engelmann spruce, Honduran Mahogany, and Indian Rosewood. Two models, with a solid spruce top and solid mahogany or solid rosewood back, are offered, along with cutwawy versions with B-Band EQ.
The Summit Series Mahogany, JG-D85-N, is built with a solid Engelmann spruce top for a well-defined tone. The back and sides are made of solid Honduran mahogany for improved sonority and strength. The body of this guitar comes dressed in maple binding. The Summit Series Mahogany also comes with a bound rosewood fretboard that is inlaid with mother-of-pearl "snowflake" position markers. The rosette of the guitar is hand inlaid with abalone for even greater appeal, and the mahogany overlaid headstock features gold Grover tuners. The Summit Series Mahogany guitar carries a list price of $459.00. It is also available in a cutaway shape with a B-Band EQ for $649.00 (JG-D85-CEN).
The Summit Series Rosewood, JG-D95-N, has all of the same features as the JG-D85-N but with the change of a solid Indian rosewood back and sides. The headstock is also bound with maple and features a rosewood overlay. The Summit Series Rosewood lists for$569.00. It is also in a cutaway shape with a B-Band EQ for $769.00 (JG-D95-CEN). .
