MusicLab Releases RealGuitar Virtual Instrument

RealGuitar is a sample-based virtual instrument with a new approach
to guitar sound modeling and guitar part performing on keyboard.
RealGuitar is available now for Windows as a VST or RTAS plug-in, and also runs in standalone mode. A Mac version is under development.
The power of RealGuitar lies in three technologies incorporated
into this guitar performance tool:
- New multi-channel layering technology, incorporating a custom library of specially recorded samples taken from every fret of all 6 strings of a real guitar.
- The Floating Fret Position technology, which imitates change of fret position of a guitarist's hand on the neck. This gives you the possibility of playing on up to 104 guitar frets using just 43 keys of a standard keyboard.
- MusicLab's Guitar Touch technology letting you easily imitate basic guitar techniques (strumming, plucking, sliding, bending, muting, etc..), using standard MIDI keyboard and MIDI controllers, such as Pitch Bender, Modulation Wheel, Sustain Pedal, Aftertouch.
Together, these technologies let you emulate live guitar sound and
techniques for a more realistic performance.
RealGuitar 1.0 includes a sample set weighing in at 555 MB. It contains 7 Acoustic guitar
patches:
- Steel Picked
- Steel Fingered
- Nylon Picked
- Nylon Fingered
- Steel 2 Picked
- Steel 2 (Doubling)
- 12-string
MusicLab intends to release additional sound banks for RealGuitar so you can add even more sounds to your toolkit.
RealGuitar is available on CD-ROM or as a downloadable version (the downloadable version is 180MB is size compressed, but expands to the full 555MB sound set). Price: $149.
