Looking to expand their digital audio workstation family to accommodate musicians on the go, pcAudioLabs has introduced two new laptop machines.

The new mobile 9000 series features a desktop version of the Intel Pentium 4 processor for superior performance, supporting 32+ audio tracks @ 24bit/96kHz. The laptop features a built-in 10-key keypad for transport control, and a 17" wide screen WSXGA+ TFT Xtra Clear Glossy Screen, driven by a 256MB Graphics card.

The Mobile 9000 can be configured with 2 internal 7200rpm hard drives maxing out at 60GB each, or if you prefer storage over speed, you could choose a 100GB 5400rpm hard drive instead.

There are 4 RAM slots allowing for a maximum of 2GB of RAM which can increase performance with huge sample library based instruments. There are 2 Firewire 400 ports (4 pins each), and 4 USB 2.0 ports, for external connectivity of dongles, hard drives, and DV Cameras. There is a Type II PCMCIA slot powered for connecting professional audio interfaces such as the RME HDSP CardBus and the Echo Indigo series.

The mobile 7000 is the sibling of the Mobile 9000 and is almost identical in every aspect except that the 10-key keypad is non-existent and the screen consists of a compact 15.4" WSXGA+ Active Matrix. The Mobile 7000 is a more portable laptop with a smaller footprint than the Mobile 9000, but with equivalent power and performance.
