Nord Modular 3.0 Upgrade to Support Mac
and PC March 21, 1999Clavia has already released three software upgrades for the Nord Modular
(not to mention the new hardware models), and they are now announcing
version 3.0 of the software. Most notably, this will be the first release
to run on the Macintosh, without a PC emulator like Virtual PC.
The decision to bring support to the Macintosh is primarily the result
of requests from users. The software will require a PowerPC based Mac
running MacOS 7.5.3 or later. Both the Mac and PC versions of the software
will be released in the Summer of 1999.
The Nord Modular System
The Nord Modular is a flexible synthesis and audio processing system
based on a combination of hardware and software. With all the processing
done in hardware, the capabilities are well defined and not variable like
a pure software product. You also don't need a top of the line computer
for optimum performance, or have to worry about compatibility issues.
The software provides all the editing features with a modular environment,
but the computer isn't required to use the Modulars live. Simply program
the patches, disconnect it, and take it with you. And, of course, the
software is being updated over time, and new modules are being added.
More details and specification on the Nord Modular 3.0 upgrade should
be available in the coming months before its release. For more information, visit Clavia's web site at www.clavia.se. |
