Fender
Hot Rod Amps July
12, 1996
Fender Musical Instruments has expanded their range of vacuum tube amplifiers
to include five new models. Collectively known as the F.A.T. (FENDER AMERICAN
TUBE) amps, the series includes three all-new models and two models being reintroduced
with updated cosmetics. New models include the HOT ROD DeVILLE 410 and the
HOT ROD DeVILLE 212, each boasting 60 watts of tube circuitry with your choice
of four 10" speakers or two 12" speakers. In either configuration, Fender's HOT
ROD amps feature three channel operation; Normal - classic Fender clean tone;
Drive - smooth, bluesy overdrive; More Drive - Ultra high energy distortion that
scorches the stage. Channel function is indicated by a dual-color LED mounted
on the chrome panel of a welded steel chassis. Also sharing these features is
a new 40 Watt, single 12" Fender combo amp called the HOT ROD DELUXE. Fender
HOT ROD amps are feature, tone and value leaders. Each will be shipped with a
two-button, three-function footswitch to allow convenient footswitching between
the three channels and a custom fitted cover at no extra charge. Players will
also appreciate the inclusion of an effects loop and speaker output jack. The
cosmetics are classic Fender, taken from an early 1960's Fender Princeton amp..."narrow
panel" cabinetry finished in jet black Tolex with the trademark sparkling silver
grille cloth. For more
