E-mu Systems Releases E-Synth 64-Voice Keyboard
July 11, 1997E-mu Systems(R) is pleased to announce the
debut of the E-Synth keyboard at Summer NAMM. The E-Synth Keyboard is a
64-voice, 76-key, semi-weighted keyboard that offers unprecedented expansion
capabilities, a large palette of high-quality sounds, and an array of real-time
controllers.
A powerful Synthesizer
At the heart of E-Synth is E-mu's Digital Modular Synthesis (DMS) technology,
which provides 64 digital 6-pole filters, 32-voice layering, 128-voice velocity
switching, and an easy-to-use virtual patch-cord architecture. "E-mu's goal of making
high-tech products easy-to-use is exploited in E-Synth. Because there are so many
automated tasks and loads of ingenious synthesis tools, E-Synth is only limited by
your imagination," states Sean Wilhelmsen, MI product manager at E-mu Systems.
"E-Synth provides the complete package--synthesizer, sampler, workstation."
A versatile sampler
E-Synth is an E4 class sampler that utilizes EOS software, and therefore has all the
power, flexibility, and versatility of the entire E4 line. E-Synth comes standard with
4 MB of RAM (expandable to 64), a SCSI interface for connection to a CD-ROM
drive or external disk drive, and 2 CD-ROMS loaded with over 400 MB of sounds.
A full set of DSP tools enable you to quickly and easily personalize sounds. New
sounds can be captured in stereo, used in conjunction with the onboard sounds, and
resampled. Finally, E-synth comes standard with a PC or MAC-based preset editor
by Emagic so that sounds can be edited via computer.
An intuitive workstation
E-Synth provides an easy-to-use, yet powerful 48-track, linear-based sequencer with
loop-record features. The sequencer features cut, copy, paste, re-channelization,
quantize with swing and input quantize, track sort, and a very detailed graphic
interface. If a computer sequencer is used, E-Synth can play sequences back via
standard MIDI files as type 0 or type 1 files.
An incredible controller
E-Synth is a powerful MIDI keyboard controller. Each of E-Synth's 1,000 RAM
presets can be split into endless MIDI zones, each with its own key and velocity
range. Plus, each preset can send a program change, volume command, and pan
command out on all 16 MIDI channels to other MIDI devices. Along with its preset
controller features, E-Synth provides versatile performance controller features such
as an arpeggiator, and instant split/layering capabilities. For more information, visit their web site at www.emu.com. |
