CD Architect from Sonic Foundry Now ShippingSonic Foundry ships CD Architect: audio editing and CD-burning software.
July 11, 1997Sonic Foundry announces CD Architect, its newest software package, is now
available worldwide. The waveform editing and audio CD-burning software further extends Sonic
Foundry's line of sound editing products for Windows. CD Architect writes CDs to Red Book
specifications on the Windows 95 and Windows NT platforms.
With CD Architect users can import audio from compact discs, record from digital audio tape or
digitize through any Windows-compatible sound card. Sound editing capabilities include a wide
range of effects and processing tools. CD Architect can optionally function as a Sound Forge 4.0
Plug-In.
A flexible multi-file playlist previews CDs in real time. Up to 99 tracks with 99 sub-indices per track
can be included on each disc CD Architect bums with the disc-at-once method allowing pause
times between tracks or even running tracks together. Full support of PQ code editing gives users
the flexibility to specify track times, sub-indices, ISRC codes, and generate printed cue sheets.
Prior to burning, CD Architect users can verify Red Book standard and run a test burn mode that
monitors the recording source for under-runs.
"As CD recorders and CD media become more affordable, users are looking for a reliable software solution. CD Architect makes burning Red Book audio CDs a viable option for almost anyone,"
comments Roy Elkins, vice president of sales and marketing, at Sonic Foundry. The MSRP for CD
Architect is $395
