| Magneto Plug-In Now Shipping for All Platforms

Steinberg North America announces the release of Magneto, a new Plug In from Steinberg's Spectral Design division. Magneto provides an exact simulation of an analog mastering tape recorder and will be compatible with the following platforms:
- Cubase VST MAC/PC
- WaveLab 1.51 and later.
- Digidesign TDM.
- Microsoft Active Movie.
Magneto is the perfect tool for Mastering "purists," achieving analogue warmth without adding any unwanted noise or other artefacts. It is also the perfect creative tool for introducing "soft overdrive" on drums, guitars and many other instruments. The smooth compression resulting from hi-level recording on to tape machines is appreciated by a lot of producers. The developers from Spectral Design measured the behaviour of a Lyrec 24 track tape machine and put this data into the Magneto Plug In. Whenever you use Magneto it is as if you were recording on such a machine.
