Studer Shows D19 MicAD Multi-Channel Digital Mic Preamp
July 11, 1997
Studer is exhibiting the D19 range of mic and line preamps at the 1997 NAMM Summer Session. The Studer D19 MicAD features a high-quality eight-channel mic preamplifier system with 20-bit digital output, designed to complement digital audio workstations, multichannel digital recorders, modular digital multitracks, digital mixing and distribution systems. In addition, the D19 MicAd is particularly suited to a wide variety of broadcast and live sound reinforcement applications.
The stand-alone, 2U-high 19in rack-mount MicAD contains eight independent audio channels with separate XLR inputs for Mic and Line connections. Digital outputs feature four AES/EBU connectors; in addition, a multichannel output in ADAT optical, S/PDIF or TDIF is available as an option.
The on-board A/D converters feature 20-bit resolution; switchable DSP-dither with noise shaping is used to maintain high quality even on 16-bit systems. Preamp functions may be controlled locally from the front panel or remotely via MIDI or RS-422 serial link. Studer, Harman Pro North America
