Yamaha Pacifica PAC1511MS, Mike Stern Model July 11, 1997
Yamaha Corporation of America announces the addition of the Mike Stern model to their Pacifica Series electric guitars. Debuting at Summer NAMM, the Mike Stern model (Pacifica 1511MS) represents stylistic preferences of the legendary guitarist. It combines a classic look with the latest design technology for an MSRP of $1299.
The PAC1511MS features a two-piece White Ash body, and a bolt-on, 22-fret maple neck and fingerboard. The pick-ups are Seymour Duncan-a '59 in the neck and "Tele Hot Rails" in the bridge. Controls include: master volume, master tone, a three-position pick-up selector switch, and Kluson-style tuners. The Mike Stern model will be available in a natural finish.
Mike Stern's unique jazz/bebop fusion style has established him as one of the genre's premier players. His obvious talent and chops have kept him in demand on the jazz circuit, and he has shined on stage with legends like Miles Davis and Jaco Pastorius. Stern has been enjoying a successful solo career, touring throughout the U.S., Europe and Japan.
"Yamaha and Stern teamed up several years ago and the production of a 'Mike Stern model' was inevitable," states Jerry Andreas, marketing manager, Guitar Department, Yamaha Corporation of America. "After much collaborative effort, the result is the PAC1511MS-a terrific representation of Stern's design."
The Pacifica Series guitars combine technology and tradition with style. All models are guaranteed with a "Limited Lifetime Warranty." Production of the PAC1511MS is expected to begin in July. For more information, visit their web site at www.yamahaguitars.com. |
