MetaLithic Ships "Digital Wings for Audio Elite"Pro Hard Disk Recording System in Full Production
July 10, 1998
Digital Wings for Audio (DWA) Elite, the complete recording studio for Windows PCs, is now in full production. Already popular for applications from standard multitrack recording to dance music remixing, DWA Elite will be featured during Summer NAMM (Nashville, 7/10 - 7/12) at the ThinKware booth (#3432).
DWA Elite includes a 10x10 rack-mount breakout box, 32-bit PCI card, 128-track recording/editing/mixing software, and Sound Forge XP for DSP effects and wave editing. The 16 individual analog I/Os (8 in/8 out, with 20-bit audio conversion) are kept outside the computer, in a metal rack-mount breakout box, for extremely quiet operation. The breakout box connects to the 32-bit PCI card through a single standard LAN cable, allowing a neat, uncluttered studio setup.
The system also includes SPDIF for hassle-free digital transfer, and a simplified interface that combines serious power with ease of use. In addition, Elite's open architecture accepts many Windows programs (such as Cubase VST, Cakewalk, Sound Forge, Wavelab, and others) to let musicians and audio engineers who own existing software take advantage of DWA's superior hardware.
MetaLithic Systems backs its products with a 1 -year warranty, free technical support, world-wide distribution, and innovative hardware technology that can be upgraded via software updates. Competitively positioned between lower-end systems that fall short of pro quality and costly pro systems that are often overkill for project and home studios, DWA Elite delivers a level of sound quality and functionality that is unique at its price point ($1,599 MSRP; a special promotional price of $1,248 is in effect through the end of July 1998).
