Roland Introduces E-300 Intelligent Keyboard July 10, 1998Roland Corporation U.S. introduces the new feature-rich E-300 Intelligent Keyboard. This professional arranger workstation features superb piano sounds, 61 full-size velocity-sensitive keys and 64-voice polyphony, making it the perfect keyboard for both beginning players and professionals.
With a new GS compatible sound table, 16 multitimbral parts, 124 built-in basic tones (270 in Tone Expansion Mode), eight built-in drum patterns and one special effects set, the new E-300 is a truly expressive instrument. It also features 32 Performance Memories, 111 onboard Music Styles and a built-in Standard MIDI File player that lets users create their own styles and treats the user created styles exactly like the preset ones.
The E-300's internal 16-track sequencer can record multiple voices and performances with up to 16 different instruments, overlaying them part by part, to create a complete song. The E-300 also features a variety of sophisticated MIDI editing functions, including Setup, Copy, Quantize, Erase, Delete, Insert, Transpose, Track Exchange, and Track Copy.
With its built-in 3.5-inch disk drive and SMF player, the E-300 can playback in "real time" any SMF without first loading it into memory. With its "Load While Playing" feature, the E-300 can access directly any style on the floppy disk. With the E-300, it's possible to select a style while running another one, making the new style available at the next down beat. The disk drive can also be used to save and load songs, Performance memories and Music Styles .
The E-300 features eight different types of reverb and eight chorus effects, as well as Sympathetic Resonance, rotary and multitap delay effects. Volume control and the onboard effects can be controlled using the dedicated Menu display and stored together with other parameter values into one of the 32 Performance Memories.
The E-300 has a newly designed easy-to-use interface and a large custom LCD display that has an innovative lyrics display function (with optional LVC-1N Lyrics Video Converter and compatible standard MIDI files).
