Yamaha YT150 Guitar/Bass Tuner
July 10, 1998To appeal to the value-conscious guitar or bass player, Yamaha Corporation of America announces the launch of the YT150 Guitar/Bass Auto Tuner into the music market on July 10, 1998. Priced at $24.95 suggested retail, the new tuner employs Yamaha innovation to provide features normally found only in more expensive tuners. The YT150 offers a high-resolution liquid-crystal meter display for quick, accurate tuning plus sharp/flat/in-tune LED indicators for tuning in the dark or from a distance.
The tuner has both a condenser microphone and In/Out jacks, allowing it to tune any electric guitar, acoustic guitar, or any 4-, 5-, or 6-string bass guitar in either manual or auto mode. A separate bass mode displays bass string notes at the touch of a button for more intuitive tuning of bass guitars. A 9-volt battery is included, and Yamaha provides a 2-year warranty, twice the industry standard.
Other features of the new YT150 are a pitch-shift feature that allows off-center tuning from 435-446 Hz in 1 Hz increments, and a tilt slot in the back of the tuner so it can be propped up for easy viewing.
