MasterList CD Upgraded to Version 2.1.2Adds Support for "Blue and White" Macintosh's and Yamaha CRW4416 CD-R Drive July 26, 1999Extending the reach of a proven, affordable CD mastering
solution, Digidesign announced today the availability of upgrades to its
MasterList CD software for Apple Macintosh computers. The version 2.1.1
and 2.1.2 upgrades add support for Yamaha's high-performance CRW4416s/sxz
recordable/rewriteable CD drives. In addition, version 2.1.2 brings MasterList
CD to Apple's powerful new "blue and white" Power Macintosh
G3 computers.
With MasterList CD and an approved CD-R drive, a Digidesign Power Macintosh-based
digital audio workstation becomes a full-featured recording platform for
master-quality CDs. These masters may be used for professional CD replication
at a manufacturing plant or for the production of small runs with a CD-R
duplicator. MasterList CD may also be used to create one-off reference
discs, or for personal archives of music or effects.
Offering professional features for optimized recording, MasterList CD
allows individual track level adjustment, non-destructive crossfades,
and PQ sub-code editing. For monitoring, MasterList CD can address either
the built-in Macintosh sound output or, for higher quality output and
digital transfer to DAT,Digidesign PCI-based hardware.
MasterList CD's host-based audio playback and processing capabilities
(introduced in version 2.0) enable direct writing at 2x and 4x speeds,
sparing users the creation of a separate image file. That allows MasterList
CD to take full advantage of the CRW4416 drives, which feature 4x write,
4x re-write, and 16x read. With this upgrade, these recorders join the
extensive list of available drives meeting Digidesign's strict quality
and performance standards.
The MasterList CD upgrades are available now as a free web download for
registered owners of version 2.1. An installer disk containing both upgrades
is also available at the suggested list price of $45.00 (U.S.). The installer
will automatically install the correct version for the computer being
used. Visit Digidesign
