Eletro-Voice Introduces Eliminator Monitor Two-Way Stage System

July 23, 1999

EV will introduce the newest member of its Eliminator(TM) line-the 15-inch two-way Eliminator Monitor-at the Summer NAMM Convention. The Eliminator Monitor, known as the Eliminator M, offers advanced EV technology, reliability and solid construction coupled with a great price point.

"The EV Eliminator line is well on it's way to becoming one of the best-selling products in EV history," says Mike Torlone, director of marketing music products for Electro-Voice. "Combined with the Eliminator Sub, the Eliminator M makes an excellent, wide-range sound system. You'll find that the M's response is wide enough to let the drummer hear his bass drum, yet not so boomy that it muddies everything else in the mix. Its small, lightweight enclosure, especially for a 15-inch two-way, is easy to move and use."

The Eliminator Monitor features EV's exclusive Ring-Mode Decoupling (RMD(TM)) found in the much sought after EV X-Array(TM) Touring System. RMD TM gives the Eliminator Monitor the clarity and definition of a studio monitor by literally eliminating the sound-coloring resonant modes created by the enclosure and the components. Eliminator delivers peak sonic clarity at all sound pressure levels.

The all-new, two-way Eliminator Monitor comes with a built-in, 1 3/8-inch stand mount so that it can do "double duty" as either a floor monitor or FOH system. It has a three-watt continuous, 1,200-watt short-term power handling capability with two projection angles--50 degrees and 65 degrees-for flexibility in placement on different sized stages. EV's 80 degree x 55 degree constant-directivity horn helps minimize feedback with its well-controlled dispersion. The Eliminator Monitor uses the 1 1/4-inch EV DH2010a pure titanium compression driver and the 15 -inch EV DL15BFH woofer.

All speaker components are American-made Electro-Voice products that give uncompromising performance under the stress of live music applications. Designing a system that can survive the torture of transport and constant stage setup and breakdown is a challenge handled by the exclusive use of EV's RoadWood(TM). At half the weight and twice the strength of particle board, RoadWood is a void-free, dimensionally stable material that makes each Eliminator cabinet lighter than similar size wood cabinets, yet much stronger. The Eliminator Monitor cabinet weighs in at only 43 lbs.

The Eliminator M has a list price of only $638 and the Eliminator ME (floor monitor with NEUTRIK Speakon(R) connectors) lists for only $658. Both come with a five-year warranty for parts and labor.

"We are proud to announce the newest member of the Eliminator family," states Torlone. "The Eliminator Monitor's excellent performance and solid, lightweight construction easily makes it a 'best buy.' "
