Guild Guitars showcased the arrival of its latest acoustic
guitars at this year's summer NAMM convention in Nashville, Tennessee.
Adding to its world renowned family of acoustics, Guild is proud to introduce
the DV4 acoustic guitar. To be made at the venerable guitar maker's Westerly,
Rhode Island facility, this new model offers a slight variation on one
of Guild's most popular arch-back guitars, the D4. The new DV4, with its
light weight, flat mahogany back, opens up all new tonal ranges for the
player who knows what a top-of-the-line, quality guitar is really about.
Since its introduction in 1991, Guild's D4 with its arch-back design
has been widely praised for its midrange definition. Earning the coveted
1998 Acoustic Guitar Magazine "Player's Choice Award", the D4
design offers distinctive character to the balance between the high, mid
and low frequencies.
With the introduction of the DV4, Guild has replaced the archback of
the D4 with a solid mahogany flat back. The flat-back structure of the
DV4 allows for a greater diversity of tone across the sound spectrum.
And because this design significantly reduces the weight of the guitar,
the overall balance shifts slightly to enhance the lower, baritone voice
of the guitar.
The top of the DV4 is made with solid spruce, and has solid mahogany
sides. It comes with a rosewood fretboard and bridge, and has pearl "dot"
inlays. The DV4 utilizes and environmentally friendly hand-rubbed satin
finish with a custom gloss top coat, and is available only in Natural.
United States MSRP is $799.99.
