August 8, 1999 Celebrating 20 years of designing and building some of the
world's highest quality Basses, Ken Smith Basses, LTD. proudly introduces the
20th Anniversary Neck-Thru Models:
These Basses will be available in 4, 5, & 6 string versions and are the
marriage of time tested craftsmanship and standard setting innovation.
The 20th Anniversary Models will be made with Tops and Backs of California
Redwood in three variations of Color and Figure: Flamed, Birdseye and Rare Charcoal
Flamed, all with matching Headstocks.
Body Core and Heel Blocks are made of Tiger Maple on all three styles. The
Laminate between the Redwood and the Tiger maple is Black walnut on the Flamed
and Birdseye Models and Mahogany on the Charcoal Model. The Body Features on the
Flamed and Birdseye Models are Tropical Walnut and Koa on the Charcoal Model.
The Neck is made of Hard Rock Maple with African Bubinga features and Heel
Laminate. The Fingerboard is Macasser Ebony and has Mother of Pearl Top and Side
Dots.
Pickups and Electronics are the same as the BSR "EG" and includes
Series/Parallel Switches. Each Bass comes with a 20th Anniversary Backplate and
Truss Rod Cover.
All 20th Anniversary Models will have their own unique serial numbers. The
serial number will notate that the Bass is a 20th Anniversary Model and whether
it is a 4, 5, or 6 String Bass. There will also be a number to designate the order
in which the Basses were produced. If you want to get one of the "early"
serial numbers, order as soon as possible to ensure you do.
Ken Smith in his quest for the best tonal woods found only a limited amount
of this rare, old, seasoned, air dried, Figured Redwood. Because of the limited
amount, there will only be approximately 30 Anniversary Neck-Thru Basses made.
Do not delay in ordering one of these Basses as you might miss out on owning one!
List Price for 4, 5, or 6 string Neck-Thru is $6,170.00 with case. For more information, visit the Ken Smith Basses web site at www.kensmithbasses.com. |
